Monifieth Bay

Monifieth Bay SSSI

Monifieth Bay has a low, wide (400-500m) inter tidal beach and a sandy upper beach, which is being actively eroded. The Bay runs between Buddon Burn and the Dighty Water at Barnhill. The Dighty Water splits Monifieth Beach from the beach that runs west to Broughty Ferry. 

Monifieth Bay, which is of international importance for its Inter-tidal habitat and feeding area for internationally important numbers of wintering waders and ducks is designated as a SSSI.
